13 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari


Day 1
Airport Transfer
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport at will be met by our representative who doubles as your driver and guide, will drive you to Entebbe town/Kampala city hotels dinner and overnight.
Day 2:
Kampala-Murchison Falls National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast; you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala and be driven to Murchison falls.
While on your way, you will branch off to Visit Nakasongola Rhino farm and have a chance to view the famous but rare white Rhinos. Proceed to Murchison Falls National park, have a brief Lunch stop in Masindi.
Have a brief tour of Karuma Falls. Proceed to Murchison Falls. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 3:
Murchison Falls National Park
Start the day with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile River(downstream) with a bigger concentration of game where you will be able to view those animals that are endemic to the tropical Savannah like the giraffe, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant hyena,  the Uganda kob etc. The bird life is also impressive, with the African fish Eagle being one of the prized sightings and with luck, the shoebill stork. There is also diverse vegetation from thick tropical rain forests to savanna grasslands.
After lunch, take a launch cruise upstream to the falls on the Nile River where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds on lucky day may see the Shoe Bill stork.
Afterwards proceed to visit the "top of the falls" where there are battle cries from the everlasting war between the water and the rocks where gallons of water squeeze through narrow passage and then plunges itself very many meters deep into the hard rocks creating this explosion sound and an ever present rainbow! .Drive back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Murchison Falls  - Kibale Forest National Park.
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to towards the rift valley. Enjoy seeing Congo Mountains and Rwenzori mountains. Time allowing visit fishing villages, then proceed to Fort Portal /Kibale with packed lunch. Drive in one of the remotest parts of this country enjoying different forest environment and other savannah woodland vegetation plus communities along the road stop where you find local market to mix briefly with local people. Arrival will be a in the evening enjoy nice views of the mountains of the moon on clear days.
Continue to Kibale National Park where you will settle. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast visit Kanyanchu the park headquarters for your chimpanzee tracking where you will see other primates like the colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys plus other primates that share this forest with chimpanzees. The park also hosts over 320 species of birds including the yellow spotted nectar, yellow rumped tinker birds etc. It also has colorful butterflies; over 250 species have been spotted. For nature lovers, the dense forest is still intact you can see trees of different species. Track chimps in their natural habitat. Afternoon visit Bigodi swamp for natural walk. Visit the surrounding villages interacting with locals exploring the eco-tourism activities in the area like tea estates. 

Day 6: Kibale-Fort Portal  – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning take game drive visiting the Sempaya hot springs and if possible visit the pygmies community – still forest gatherers that came from one of the Ituri forest in the Congo basin. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park with packed lunch or have lunch on the way in Kasese town. Drive along the foot of Mountain Rwenzori and on clear days enjoys its nice ice peaks that remain wonder on equator line. Stop for communities along the road stop where you find local market to mix briefly with local people. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early Breakfast in the morning, carryout a game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck and stripped jackal, and of-course the several warthogs.
After lunch, take boat cruise on Kazinga channel connecting lake George and Lake Edward viewing different wild animals like lion, elephant, buffalo and many more plus plenty of bird life. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth - Ishasha  
After breakfast you will drive to Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees or visit Maragambo Forest for nature walk. After picnic lunch drive to Ishasha in the southern sector of queen Elizabeth national park. Take an evening game drive looking for climbing lions. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Ishasha /Queen Elizabeth park
Very early In the morning after an early breakfast, you will drive to Kabale/Lake Bunyonyi.Arrive and go straight to take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the Islands seeing a different bird species and other local community activities. View rolling terraced hills that make part of this country beautiful a scenery once known as the Switzerland of Africa. Have lunch and after lunch,Check out and proceed to Rwanda. Cross border from Kisoro side into Rwanda and drive to Ruhengeri.Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Gorilla tracking Parc de volcanoes in   Rwanda
Morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be driven to the park offices for briefing. You will be allocated different families to track. If you are a large group, to make sure that most of the group tracks similar families, you need to be early at the park offices so that allocation is done first for your group.  Your will then be off from the park offices to begin your adventure. A briefing from your local guide and then it’s off! The time taken and the terrain varies (2- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The excitement of meeting face to face with the gentle giants takes away the pain of some times lengthy and tiresome trek. Return to the lodge exhilarated to relive the encounter with friends over a drink. Dinner and Overnight.

Day11: Ruhengeri/Kinigi – lake Mburo

After breakfast drive to cross into Uganda again drive to Lake Mburo national park or Mbarara town. Lunch will be on the way, continue to Lake Mburo Dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Lake Mburo -Kampala

After Breakfast take a game drive. It time allow take boat ride on lake Mburo and Lunch. Proceed to Kampala. Stopover on your way could be in Ankole grassland where long horned cattle are common sight. Continue northwards stopping at Equator crossing for memorable photo taking, Mpambire in Mpigi an art and craft center where drum making technology has been passed on from generation to generation. Overnight.

Day 13 : Airport Transfer
Leave Kampala at your leisure, visit Botanical gardens and Entebbe Education Center (UWEC). Lunch in Entebbe, transfer to the airport for your homebound flight.
Pease note the safari cost will include:

  • Gorilla permits 1 per person
  • Full time safari driver/guides,
  • Border crossing fees
  • Visas into Rwanda and Back to Uganda
  • All park entry fees, all game drives, boat/ launch trips,
  • All the applicable Government Taxes.
  • 4x4 wheel drive vehicle with gas
  • Airport transfers.
  • Chimp permits 2 per person –  Kyambura /Kibale
  • Drinking bottled water

Excluded are:

  • Drinks, your bar bills, phone calls, personal insurance and any other services of a personal nature like souvenirs tips and laundry etc.
